On Sept. 16, 2017, Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, participated in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Cape County Park North, Missouri.
A dozen associates joined a few hundred local residents in walking to show support of continued research for better treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. The associates wore matching shirts with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s logo and the facility logo printed in purple, the color designated for Alzheimer’s awareness.
“Multiple members of our Life Care community have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia disorders,” said Mamye Whitten, executive director. “We understand firsthand how devastating this disease can be to families and relationships. We want to show on a local level our support of this cause and our partnership with Life Care’s National Team.”
Associates of Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau and their families made donations that were contributed during the walk, and the organization had a booth to share information about its services.
